Scenes And Signs From SlutWalk NYC At Union Square

Thousands of activists gathered today at Union Square for SlutWalk NYC, an anti-rape march and rally. SlutWalk NYC is part of a worldwide grassroots movement challenging rape culture, victim-blaming and slut-shaming, and working to end sexual and domestic violence. The event began with sign making at 11:00 AM followed by a march at noon. The first SlutWalk took place in Toronto, after a police officer told female students not to dress like sluts in order to avoid sexual assaults. The images were made during the musical performances and rally. For more information about the movement, you can visit their website.
